What I Did this Weekend

I wove blue floss through the Swiss entredeux edging on the skirt from the Old Fashioned Baby sewing retreat.

I began embroidering the hemline of the skirt, too.
Jeannie used featherstitching on her dress.  I have substituted stem stitch.
Featherstitching on curves is not my strength, and I really enjoy doing this stitch!

We fired up the grill.  After the hot dogs and chicken, came the best part --
S'mores!

We watched some of these, which were much prettier than my picture taking skills portray!

Hope each of you had a fun weekend, too!
Now on to a very busy, but short, week!

The floss through the entredeux adds just the right touch of soft color to the white edging. And the stem stitch looks just fine! We need to fall back on our strengths some time.

Sounds like a fun and profitable day... especially cuz there was time for stitching! Your embroidery is so delicate!

I like the stem stitch. I may pirate your idea, it would keep me from retracing. Love the look of those s'mores too!!!

You sure needed & deserved that lovely break from routine, Jan. I'm really glad you got to attend. Girlfriend stitching is the best!
I'm missing my smocking group. Now that its summer & all their kids are home, we take a break from meeting. :(

The floss through the entredeux ...so delicate a shade, too. I look forward to seeing everyone's completed outfits.

fondly,
Rett

p.s. I think you look CUTE in your glasses!

Hey girlfriend....how you be?

How in the WORLD did I miss including you on my post before last? I mentioned my other two favorite sewing girls and failed to include you! Drats. I'll go back today and fix it!

So good to see you doing what your heart desires and to perfection too. I love the little touch of floss running through the lace.
