Rambo . . .

For fourteen years you filled our lives with unconditional love, wet kisses, and silly antics.
You never did learn the command of "sit and stay", but you will stay forever in our hearts.
As you scampered across that rainbow bridge, your buddies Bounce and Blitz no doubt waited to welcome you.  Maybe they introduced you to our first schnauzer, Bluff.
I just am not sure how to tell your human best buddy that you will not be here to welcome him home again.
Rest in peace, sweet friend.
Our home will never be the same.

So sorry, Jan. Hopefully this quote from C. S. Lewis will bring you some small amount of comfort as it has to me.

"If...the strong conviction which we have of a real...selfhood in the higher animals, and specially in those we tame, is not an illusion, their destiny demands a somewhat deeper consideration. The error we must avoid is that of considering them in themselves. Man is to be understood only in his relation to God. The beasts are to be understood only in their relation to man and, through man, to God...Man was appointed by God to have dominion over the beasts, and everything a man does to an animal is either a lawful exercise, or a sacrilegious abuse, of an authority by Divine right. The tame animal is therefore, in the deepest sense, the only 'natural' animal - the only one we see occupying the place it was made to occupy, and it is on the tame animal that we must base all our doctrine of beasts...You must not think of a beast by itself, and call that a personality and then inquire whether God will raise and bless that. You must take the whole context in which the beast acquires it's selfhood...And in this way it seems to me possible that certain animals may have an immortality, not in themselves, but in the immortality of their masters." -C. S. Lewis, The Problem of Pain

Oh so sorry! Our pets are such wonderful examples of unconditional love... and when you come in the door whether gone 2 hours or 2 min they act so happy to see you!

So sad to hear that your dog passed away. Losing a pet is always difficult and and painful.

Dear Jan:
You know that I share your tears today, my friend. It's the promise that we will see all our beloved pets again - in God's time - that continues to comfort my heart when the sadness overwhelms me. I hope that same promise will bring comfort to you as you mourn the loss of yet another sweet companion.
Sending love and hugs across the miles.
xoxo

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved Rambo. I miss my Schnauzer Chessie too. Is there any better dog than a Schnauzer? So smart, so loving, so gentle. They steal our hearts. God bless.

It sounds like Rambo (love his name!) was a good & faithful companion for many years. I'm sorry for your loss & I know how much you must miss him. My DD & I cried for weeks after our beloved white kitty died at the age of 18.

Gentle Comforting ((HUGS))
