Thank you so much for the many prayers, kind thoughts and messages regarding my husband's recent hospitalization. They were most definitely felt and appreciated, and played a part in easing
both our hearts.
After five days of monitoring and medication, his heart finally reverted to normal sinus rhthym.
The rate is still slightly elevated, but so much better!
He remains on medication and is undergoing additional tests on an outpatient basis.
We were stunned when he was also diagnosed with
adult onset Type 2 Diabetes.
Needless to say, we are making many changes to our schedules, diets and lifestyle.
It seemed only fitting that his birthday was the day after his discharge.
We gratefully celebrated another year of life, and look forward to many, many more!
Thank you again from the bottom of my own heart.
Hope to be back soon with regular posting about more fun subject matter!
This was so good to see the post and to know your hubby is home and had a birthday outside a hospital room. Will still continue to keep him and you in prayer.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby is diabetic with heart problems as well, I think I can feel some of what you feel. Its a lifestyle change we both try to keep. Hubby loves ice cream and some things he should not eat so I do get a bit miffed with him. Overall its a good ride... so to speak.
Please know you have many praying for you both and have somewhat of an idea what you maybe feeling. But with the lords help you will overcome.
So glad he is home and on the mend. I am sure this birthday was extra special. Take his wallet out of your purse now.
ReplyDeleteMy father had adult onset diabetes. Please make sure he follows the diet and instructions. We want to keep him around a long time.
ReplyDeleteJan, what a relief to know he has come through this episode! I'm sorry about the diabetes diagnosis but hubby has lived with it for 24+ years & still does pretty well.
ReplyDeleteBe sure to attend all the classes on nutrition that you can get your hands on. I'm sure they've got your DH on anti-clotting meds & several foods, esp. green leafy ones can affect his readings. Lots to learn in a short amt. of time.
Hugs & hang in there!

Praying for you! So glad you were home for his birthday.
ReplyDeleteI had gestational diabetes and know it can be hard to change habits, but it is worth it. I grabbed all the info I could at the time and it was overwhelming at first. Type 2 diabetes is in my family so I have to be careful too.
Good luck.
I'm so sorry to read this, Jan. I know about having a husband with arrythmia . . . and I tell you that because I also know that with medication and diet all can be very well. You and your husband are in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to post your lovely posts!
