Pity Party and Pansy Planting

Thank you so much for the all the warm and fuzzy birthday greetings and wishes!  They truly lifted my spirits and and carried me through some discouraging days.  Results from my recent CT scans were not what we hoped.  More appointments and tests will be conducted next week.  I held a pity party for myself for a few days, but now it is time to move on to . . . .

pansy planting!
Currently, we are having slightly above-normal daytime temperatures that still climb into the low's 80's.  The general rule of thumb is that pansies should not be planted until daytime temperatures are consistently under 80 degrees.  However, these little flowers just always make me smile!  Smiles were needed, so pansies were planted.
So far, so good.
They seem to be enjoying our sunny days and cooler nights, and not minding a few extra degrees of warmth.
The tulip bulbs are also puchased and in the refrigerator chilling.
I love fall gardening!

I missed your birthday post, so I'm wishing you a belated birthday. I am so sorry that things aren't going as hoped. I am continuing to pray for you and your doctors. The pansy photo is so pretty. I need to plant a huge mum that was sent to me when my mother passed last Sat.

Happy Belated Birthday! I hope you are doing better and the pansies are working their magic on you.

When I'm crabby I sit down with a book I've read several times but love. It always works to make me feel so much better.

I love pansies as well, Jan. Believe me, the days here in NY are definitely consistently under 80 degrees!

I'm so sorry about your test results. I am praying for you, my friend. Know that you're in my thoughts.

Hugs, Jan, and continued prayers. I love pansies and several years ago I planted a long raised bed full of them. When the flowers were in full bloom (January for us) my mother-in-law was hospitalized and I was able to keep a constant vase of beautiful, multi-colored pansies on her bedside table. Everyone who entered her room complemented those flowers. :)

Pansies are so pretty. It amazes me to see them being planted in the fall - we are busy putting the gardens to bed here; have had temps nearing the freezing point. I would expect we'll see a hard frost within the next couple of weeks. I continue to pray for you and the situation with your eyes. (((HUGS)))
