Memorial Day

They fell, but o'er their glorious grave,
Floats free the banner of the cause
they died to save.

Thank you to the brave men and women of our military, and also to their families.

This picture really says it all. We should all stop and remember the sacrifice these men and women have made. Whether or not we agree with the wars that we are presently fighting, the men and women who are there fighting in the name of the USA should be honored. I am the age of the Viet Nam Vets who were so dishonored when they came home. Shame on us!

Very touching. We attended a memorial service at our church cemetery this morning and I was very moved. I posted pictures on my blog a little while ago, but men that my kids have grown up knowing were in uniform. Their uncle played taps, and they helped my dh put the flags on the graves. I think they were as moved as I was.

Have a nice weekend, Jan!
